Learn how to use the built-in camera on your Android to scan a Quick Response (QR) code for links to websites, apps, tickets, and more.
QR codes give you quick access to websites without having to type or remember a web address. You can use the Camera app to scan a QR code.
QR codes are commonly used in restaurant menus, to display flight information, on business cards, and as an easy way to direct you to a website.
How to Scan a QR Code with the Camera App:
Option 1: Using the Camera App (Most Android Phones)
Step 1
Open the Camera on your Android device.
Step 2
Select the rear-facing camera and point the camera at the QR code. Hold the phone steady for a few seconds until your device recognizes the QR code and shows a notification.
Step 3
Tap the notification or link that appears. The link will open in your browser or app.
Option 2: Using Google Lens (If your camera does not scan QR Codes)
Step 1
Open the Google Lens app on your Android device.
Step 2
Select the rear-facing camera and point the camera at the QR code. Hold the phone steady for a few seconds to allow Google Lens to detect the QR code.
Step 3
Tap the notification or link that appears. The link will open in your browser or app.
