How to use the Camera

Step 1

To Turn on your Camera, tap on the app icon highlighted on the screen below.

Step 2

To take a photo, point the camera at your subject. Press the shutter button (highlighted below on the left screen) to take the photo.

To switch between the Front and Rear Camera, press the button above the shutter (highlighted below on the right screen). This will switch the direction of your camera. It will either face you or away from you.

 

Step 3

To preview photos you have taken, press the round button located below the shutter button.

How to Access & Navigate Google Photos

Step 1

The Google Photos mobile app comes built-in on all Android devices. Tap on the Google Photos App icon from your home screen. If you do not see it on your home screen, simply swipe up with your finger to View All Apps.

Step 2

If it is your first time using the Google Photos app, you will see some initial messages to get you started. This will include logging in or creating an account and selecting to back up your photos and videos.  

Step 3

Here is the Google Photos main screen.

The buttons on the left side allow you to browse through the different types of photos that are on your device and account. This includes details such as imported or recently deleted photos/videos, different types of photos/videos, and albums that have been created.

On the right-hand side, previews of all the photos that are saved to your Google Photos account will appear. Simply tap on one to view larger. 

 

How to Edit a Photo

Step 1

While viewing a photo in full screen, tap on ‘Edit’ on the bottom of the screen.

Step 2

In Edit mode, the various tools/ settings to adjust the photo will appear near the bottom. Swipe to view the various options.

To keep the changes, tap on Save in the bottom corner. You will be able to select saving the changed picture or saving a copy of the changes and keeping the original as a separate image. 

How to Create an Album

Step 1

Tap on the ‘Library’ button at the left of the screen.

Step 2

Tap on 'Create Album' near the bottom half of the screen.

Step 3

On the top space, type a name for the album. Then tap on 'Select photos' to choose the photos that you would like to add to the album. Tap on 'Add' in the top right corner to confirm. 

Step 4

To access the newly created album, tap on ‘Library’ on the left side menu. All albums will be visible under the Album header. To add more photos to an album, select Add Photos after tapping to view an album.
