What is Twitter?

Twitter is a social networking service for friends, family, and coworkers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent messages.

People post something called Tweets, which may contain photos, videos, links, and text. These messages are posted to your profile, sent to your followers, and are searchable on Twitter’s search.

How to Setup a Twitter Account

Step 1

Open the Twitter app. You will have to install this from the App Store (Apple devices) or Play Store (Andriod devices). You can also visit the website at twitter.com

Step 2

Add the name you want to be displayed on your account. Include the email address or phone number you want to be associated with your account and your date of birth.

Step 3

Select 3 or more topics you’re interested in and would like to see on your feed/main screen. You can always edit this later. See the example screen below on the left.

Next, you will select the interests you’d like to view on your feed/main screen. You also have the option to select none and tap on next. See the example screen below on the right.

Step 4

Tap on the ‘Follow’ button to start following a suggested account and view their posts (or Tweets) on your feed/main screen. Finally, tap on ‘Next’ to see your profile.
