Candoo Learning | How-to Keep Devices Safe this Summer
Summer has officially arrived, and many of you are likely gearing up for various outdoor activities. With the warmth of this beautiful season, it's important to take care of your devices to ensure they continue to function optimally.
Here are five quick tips to keep your devices safe this summer:
Tip 1: Be Cautious of Direct Sunlight
Your electronic devices have internal heat so adding direct sunlight will only make them warmer. If your devices start overheating, many internal parts can be damaged, so you should always be cautious. You should always ensure your electronics are not under direct sunlight and place them in cool areas. If they start to get warm, placing them near the airflow from a fan or an air conditioner would be best.
Tip 2: Allow Airflow for Devices
It is always a good idea to give your devices ample breathing room. Ensure the vents on your devices are clear from any other items obstructing their airflow.
Tip 3: Don't Stack Devices
Since electronics produce heat, it would be best to not stack any of your devices on top of each other. Make sure to give your devices enough space from each other so they don't accumulate extra heat.
Tip 4: Keep Devices Clean
The vents on your devices should always be clean so the fans inside can release proper airflow. You can wipe away any dust or dirt on the vents with a microfiber cloth or use a can of compressed air to clear out the vents as well.
Tip 5: Shut Devices Down
If any of your devices should start to overheat, make sure to shut it down and disconnect it from any power supply. You can let your device cool down in a cool area and once it is no longer hot to the touch, you can turn it back on and continue using your device.
